ncurses-examples software package provides test programs and examples for ncurses, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install ncurses-examples
ncurses-examples is installed in your system.
Make ensure the ncurses-examples package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep ncurses-examples *
You will get with ncurses-examples package name, version, architecture and description in a table
